Dr. Tiffany Shields is constantly keeping tabs on changes and advancements in the dental field. The ADA recently released an application specifically to aid dentists in diagnosing certain conditions.
The app is called ADA Oral Pathologist and is considered a “chair-side reference” in diagnosing patients. The user can search for a specific condition or search by inputting patient symptoms. Over 200 conditions are detailed within the app. The app can be found in the Apple App Store or on Google Play. You don’t have to be a dentist to download the app, but with the cost at $59.99, you may want to leave it to your dentist.
If you see your dentist reaching for their phone, don’t jump to the conclusion that they’re texting their friends. Smart phones have become tools throughout most industries and the dental industry is no different. While Dr. Tiffany Shields does not rely on applications such as this one, she is curious how her patients will react to the news of apps making their way into the dentist office.
